Hum work for the weekend

Students have started their Renaissance Change Makers project (yellow handout). Students will need to complete all of their research today and over the weekend. On Monday and Tuesday they will have a total of 3 periods to complete a visual representation of their change maker/topic.

Your Task:  chose a change maker within the Renaissance and complete a biography of that person, and also use this biography task as a way to summarize and present your knowledge of the Renaissance as it relates to the person and topic of interest to you.


Some of the Questions will you need to answer:
What impact or influence on Renaissance worldview did this individual have?
What impact or influence on our worldview today did this individual have?
What importance did this individual have during the Renaissance?
What importance did this individual have on our life today?
What qualities did they have which made them a Renaissance man or woman?
Were they truly great in what they accomplished? Why? How so?
Their greatest contribution in shaping the worldview of the Renaissance was…
Their greatest contribution in shaping the worldview of western worldview was….


Use the Research Fact finding questions to help guide your research 

  1. Full name of your person _________________________
  2. Date of birth and death  ________________________  
  3. Place of birth _____________________
  4. Status:  married, how many children, ?
  5. Education background, where were they educated?
  6. Occupation _____________
  7. Find 10 Trivia facts about this Renaissance man or woman.
  8. Find a 4 pictures of this person and include details for each picture
  9. What did this person do that was important in the Renaissance?
-  What qualities did they have? 
  1. List the work of arts, inventions, books written, etc…
  2.  Find pictures of the works of art, inventions, books, etc.
  3. Was this person accepted at the time for their Renaissance views, inventions, works of art or were they challenged by someone or some authority that did not like what they did?  Explain this.
  4. Select their best work of art you consider had the most impact, influence and significance in the Renaissance. Give reasons for your choice. Why do you consider this person as having the greatest contribution in shaping the worldview of the western world?
  5.   Keep track of your References.

REFERENCING HELP
A reference on your source sheet should look like:
Author’s last name, first name (if known). “Title of Article or Page”. Date of publication or last revision (if known). Name of organization / company.
