Rays of Sunshine

RAYS of SUNSHINE!

o  Create images that describe an event, memory, or activity that has been important to you in 2015. This could include activities during school, outside of school, or during spring break.

o  What has been your shining moment at HDC? What has been your shining moment outside of school?

o  Use the sunshine for your template. Draw a self-portrait in the centre of your sun and use the rays to describe your 2015 moments. Your sun needs to be neat and colored.

o  You must describe your image (or images) in ONE paragraph in your journal include a title. Why did you choose this image(s)? What makes it so important? This is a formal writing piece, so make sure to use appropriate tone and language when describing your important events.

2. Please review Chapter 11 - in D2L. Tomorrow we will get into groups and plan for a UN conference about commemorating the 500th year anniversary of Cortes' conquering of the Aztecs.

Humanities - finishing up our Aztec unit

Today we finish a quick overview of the deadly meeting between Spain and the Aztecs. Please see the scavenger hunt answer key in D2L.

We will have our Aztec unit exam next Thursday, March 19.

Humanities

Today the class brainstormed different themes within The Outsiders. Students were to choose one of themes and outline ideas and examples from the novel connected to the topic they have picked. Tomorrow students will receive a formalized essay task.

Aztecs: Chapter 10 - A Deadly Meeting
- students received an overview handout for this chapter and are to work on it for homework.  We will complete the handout in class tomorrow.
